"Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more. You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you. When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement. They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself. Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautifull. There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around. You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are. The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever. Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again. Colours seem brighter and more brilliant. Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all. A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face. In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby. Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you. You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do. Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon. You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible. You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you. You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile. Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life."

I am getting married next weekend and everything about this beautifully written quote speaks to me and how I feel towards my future husband Will. I can honestly say that right now in my life with the people I am surrounded by and my fiance most of all, I am the most happiest and at peace; more so than I have ever been.
I have started to develop into my own person on this adventure to discover more about myself and what I believe. Will has enlightened me into many different things that I never once took time to think about. I am loving myself inside and OUT and I am loving the people and family around me. Within the past two years I have really changed from a Eeyore 'type' to a Tigger 'type' ... and that makes me extremely happy! I am very much looking forward to my wedding day and all that may happen =) and most of all I am anxious to start my marriage with a man I have been with for over two years, each day gets better and something new always happens and I learn more about him... and I am excited for that to continue!!

How do you do?
Oh my, just 16 days left until I become Mrs. Pettner =] Wow, how time has flew by, I can remember last summer and the wedding just seeming oh so far away and now...only a little over two weeks away!
In case any of you were wondering....Will, my serious yet baby faced fiance and I met at work. I work in a warehouse environment and I am one of the lucky ones who has a wonderful desk job (so I get to sit on my ass all day) Will on the other hand worked out on the floor moving boxes from point A to point B, basically. =p One day I heard through the grapevine that Will Pettner had a crush on me, I had no idea who this boy was....so feeling flattered, I asked around to anyone and everyone who Will Pettner was?? No one really knew either. Luckily, one of my friends knew who he was and pointed him out, so now I knew what he looked like at least....however, we never spoke. Then one extra sucky day I was out on the floor doing manual labor, throwing boxes at a pallet strip and a boy came up to help me, he didn't speak and of course I didn't speak because I am naturally that rude...we threw boxes together and that was it, as I went to move my blue cart away I passed him and said, "thank you" and went on my way.
A few weeks past and I had forgotten about Will Pettner because well... to be honest I didn't think he was that cute! Then on a Thursday at work (my Friday, and the big civil war game between the two college football teams which is a big deal around my parts) I noticed a very cute boy in the lunch room =] This boy had very dark eyes and a awesome very attractive beard...facial hair is my weakness...as I looked closer I realized OH MY!!! that is Will Pettner! So...we had this awkward stare at each other for maybe a minute, but it seemed like a long time but he still didn't come talk to me, sheesh what was I going to do with this boy? I decided to text a mutual friend of ours and just ask for Will's number and take matters into my own hands! I texted him that same day with some silly question inquiring about if he had an apartment and how much he paid because I was trying to get a new place of my own for cheaper. He didn't catch on to the subtle inquiry... he just answered my questions and left it at that =/ then we kind of just started talking about the football game and who each wanted to win, which was the opposite of one another so we made a friendly wager =] Sadly, I lost and I had to wear his teams sweater to work that next Monday =/ ...and we have been connected to one another since Dec 3, 2009 =]
...that is our story of how we met, pretty cute huh? =p
p.s. he LOVES olives and Colby jack cheese and I despise them both... so we are a match made in heaven =]

a hankering for some sweets
I wanted to share a few new recipes I have come across for those of you with a sweet tooth like myself =] Unfortunately, I am unable to make these now due to my wedding coming up and ensuring my weight stays stabilized for my wedding dress. However, as soon as I return from my honeymoon its on in the kitchen with these scrumptious desserts!

***if you are a close friend of mine you know my LOVE for donuts! Since I have moved to OR I have been unable to find a good donut shop for a quick fix so I was stoked when I came across this!

***this cookie looks amazing and like one might be very filling and satisfying.

***this could be a sweet breakfast or a yummy dessert for two; for the start to a romantic evening!

a release
I need to rant!
I have never rented a tuxedo for anyone before so I definitely do not know the ropes in order to do so... Yesterday the bridal group headed over to Mens Warehouse to check out the attire for the boys. The boys drove separate from the girls and we met there. When I walked in the first female to help us did not introduce her self nor give us a small idea of what we would be doing to start off. She didn't care at all to inquire as to what we were looking for or what type of wedding we were having, needless to say already peeved and not being able to control it with my facial expressions. The boys were being fitted without me even knowing as I was given swatches basically to look at to make a BLIND decision of what I want the outfit to look like, since the store does not stock the product there to try on. I was given two shoe options to choose from, one shiny black shoe or two a shiny black and white shoe! Really two shoe options, and they are both shiny? WTF! To top it off we won't be seeing the rental until two days prior to the wedding when the boys can pick it up. Are you kidding me?!?!? That is pretty stupid way to run a business of renting things out for such important events. I was livid at the end, so livid I was red in the face. Come to find out by talking to the fiance and a mutual guy friend, this is how all rental places work for tuxedos. BLAH!
Although I am happy with what I picked out and pretty glad it is checked off the to do list, I am extremely disappointed in the service and overall experience at Mens Warehouse. I hope I never have to go there again!!!

Pinterest is an online pin board that helps organize things you love...says the website. and.... it is right, when I first heard about this site from close friends I thought it sounded lame and did not interest me at all! However, I requested a login about a month or so ago and have been addicted to this site ever since.
So, you know when you are online and you come across things that are super amazing but you may not have a printer (like myself) to print it out. Well, now you can pin it to your Pinterest boards and save it for life and access it later =p
I have saved things for my future home, ideas for a baby room when it is time and just random cute things for holiday ideas & birthday ideas etc.
Just wanted to share this with those ladies and some gents who may not be familiar with it!
ENJOY!

another year gone....welcome 2012
I am not too big into traditions and I usually don't ever make New Year's resolutions...
but, this year I have a few things I want to change in my life starting today!
1) stop being so considerate towards others when they don't ever return the kindness
2) stop caring what others think & do EXACTLY what makes ME happy, period!
3) control my tendency to worry
4) become content with myself physically
5) remember that life is short & try to live each day happily
6) surround myself with people that make me happy not people that make me feel bad
7) exercise three times a week to feel HEALTHY
8) continue to hope that people realize everyone has different opinions and lives, and that it is OK
9) be more thankful for what I have now and not envious of others who have more
10) learn more about anything and everything
p.s. I was waiting all 2011 for 2012 to arrive =] I am getting married this year...in 69 days to be exact.
